1. Arch or square — how do people choose?
Square reads modern and architectural; arch reads warmer and more traditional. In a home with curved openings, arched doorways or a more classic finish package, the arch is usually the one.
2. Is 63,000 BTUs too much for a living room?
It is a lot of input for a single room, and much of it is radiant through a very large pane. In a great room or an open main floor it makes sense; in a small room it will be overwhelming.
3. What is the difference from the U44 glass-burner version?
That one uses a glass burner over a black enameled liner; this build has the painted liner and log fire. Same firebox and output.
4. What venting does it need?
Either 5" x 8" power venting or 8" x 11" direct venting. On a firebox this size the vent route usually decides the wall, so we plan it first.
