A Three-Sided Fire That Looks Like Architecture

The Urbana U30 Gas Fireplace is built around a piece of engineering most fireplaces cannot match: glass-to-glass corners with no pillars, and seamless glass from top to bottom with no gaps. The result is a genuinely three-sided fire — a room divider, a peninsula, an end-of-island feature — rather than a box with windows. Double glass means no safety screen is required, so nothing interrupts the view. This build ships with the painted liner, steel bezel and vermiculite, on natural gas with IPI ignition, and includes the top lighting kit. Wheatland Fireplace supplies and installs Urbana across Saskatchewan.

FAQ

1. What does a three-sided fireplace let me do?
It lets the fireplace divide space rather than sit against a wall — between a kitchen and a living room, at the end of an island, or as a peninsula. It is a floor-plan decision more than a heating one, and it works best when it is planned before framing.
2. Is a safety screen required?
No. The U30 uses double glass, which keeps the outer surface cool enough that no screen is needed. That is what keeps the view completely uninterrupted.
3. How much heat does it produce?
22,500 BTUs at 65.9% efficiency with a 30" W x 20" H glass area. The U30 is about presence more than raw output — for whole-floor heating we would point you at the U50 or U70.
4. Does this version have the color LED lights?
No — this is the standard build with the top lighting kit. The LED version adds adjustable ember bed colour lighting and is listed separately.
5. When should Wheatland Fireplace get involved in my build?
As early as possible. Three-sided units affect framing, venting and finishes, and the cheapest time to solve all three is before drywall.
