The Biggest Fire Urbana Makes

The Urbana U55 is the largest fireplace in the Urbana catalogue: a 52" wide by 42" tall window of clean-face glass with 75,000 BTUs and the 3D stainless steel burner behind it. This is a fireplace for great rooms with height — vaulted ceilings, double-height walls, the rooms where anything smaller disappears. It ships with the painted steel liner and remote, supports 5" x 8" power venting or 8" x 11" direct venting, and takes black enameled, black glass, brick and herringbone liner upgrades. Supplied and installed across Saskatchewan by Wheatland Fireplace.

1. What size room does the U55 need?
A large one with height. In a standard-ceiling living room it will overwhelm both the wall and the room; in a vaulted great room it is spectacular.
2. Is 75,000 BTUs practical?
It is a lot of input, and much of it is radiant through a very large pane — Urbana publishes 39% efficiency. Treat it as a feature fireplace with serious presence rather than a furnace substitute.
3. What venting does it take?
5" x 8" power venting or 8" x 11" direct venting, with a power vent kit available for longer runs. The route is planned before anything is ordered.
4. What liner options are there?
Painted steel is included; black enameled, black glass, rustic brown brick and two herringbone finishes are available, along with traditional and birch log sets.
5. Can you coordinate with my builder?
Yes — on a fireplace this size we would want to be involved before framing.
