50 Inches of Linear Fire with Single-Pane Radiant Heat

The Screened U50 — Built to Be Felt

The screened build of the Urbana U50 keeps the 50" by 20" seamless glass opening and the 38,000 BTUs, but uses single-pane glass with safety screens included rather than the double-glass assembly — which puts more radiant heat directly into the room. At 67.7% efficiency it is the strongest performer in the Urbana line, so this configuration gives you a wide linear fire that genuinely carries heating load. It ships with the painted liner, steel bezel, vermiculite and the top lighting kit. Supplied and installed by Wheatland Fireplace across Saskatchewan.

FAQ

1. Screened or double glass — what is the difference?
Double glass keeps the outer pane cooler, so no screen is needed and the view is completely clear. Single pane with screens transmits more radiant heat into the room. Look at both in the showroom.
2. Is the U50 a real heater?
Unusually for a linear fireplace, yes — 38,000 BTUs at 67.7% efficiency is the best combination in the Urbana line.
3. Do the screens spoil the view?
Less than you would expect across an opening this wide, but if an unbroken 50-inch view is the point, the double-glass U50 is the better buy.
4. Can it be installed in a corner?
Corner install and framing base kits are available. We confirm the configuration before ordering.
5. When should we plan it in?
Before framing — the rough opening, vent route and finish all need to be coordinated.
