The Largest Clean-Face Firebox Urbana Builds

The Urbana U44 puts 42 inches by 36 inches of glass into a wall, with 63,000 BTUs and the 3D stainless steel burner behind it — the biggest clean-face fire in the Urbana line and a genuine centrepiece for a great room. This build includes the painted steel liner and remote, with a traditional log fire behind glass that has no louvers interrupting it. Liner upgrades run from black enameled and black glass through brick, herringbone and ledgestone, and it supports 5" x 8" power venting or 8" x 11" direct venting. Supplied and installed province-wide by Wheatland Fireplace.

FAQ

1. Is 63,000 BTUs too much for one room?
It is a lot of input, and much of it is radiant through a very large pane. In a great room or open main floor it makes sense; in a small room it will be overwhelming.
2. What is the difference from the U44 glass-burner version?
That one uses a glass burner over a black enameled liner; this build has the painted liner and a log fire. Same firebox, same output.
3. Is there an arch version?
Yes — Urbana builds the U44 in square and arch firebox designs, listed separately.
4. What venting does it need?
5" x 8" power venting or 8" x 11" direct venting. On a firebox this size the vent route usually decides the wall.
