One Fire, Two Rooms, 45,000 BTUs

A See-Through Fire Between Two Spaces

The Urbana U33 See-Through puts a 35" wide by 34" tall window of fire between two rooms, visible and enjoyable from both sides, with Urbana's 3D stainless steel burner producing flame with real depth rather than a flat row. Clean-face construction means no louvers on either face. This build includes the horizontal fluted liner and remote, and runs 45,000 BTUs with a 30,000 BTU turn down. A see-through installation has to be designed in — both sides need finish, clearance and access — so it belongs in a new build or a full renovation. Supplied and installed by Wheatland Fireplace across Saskatchewan.

FAQ

1. Where does a see-through fireplace make sense?
Between a living room and a dining room, a bedroom and an ensuite, or an indoor room and a covered patio. Both sides need finishing and clearance, so it has to be planned into the floor plan.
2. Is the heat split between the rooms?
Effectively yes — which is part of why the configuration works. 45,000 BTUs into one room would be a lot; across two it is comfortable.
3. Can it be retrofitted?
Rarely without real construction. New builds and full renovations are its natural home.
4. What venting does it need?
A horizontal power vent kit is available and often required on this configuration; we confirm the route before anything is ordered.
5. How early should Wheatland Fireplace be involved?
At the drawing stage — we will work with your builder on framing, venting and clearances.
