The Westport in Painted Black — Cast Iron That Runs Without Power

The Enviro Westport is the classic cast iron freestanding stove: cast body, cast legs, opening cast iron doors and a ceramic log set over a ceramic brick liner, all in a 26" W x 28" H x 20" D footprint. This is the millivolt (Nova) build in painted black, with battery-powered ignition and an LP conversion kit included — no household power needed for the fire, which matters at the lake and on the acreage. It produces 30,000 BTUs at 64.9% P4 efficiency for roughly 1,700 square feet, and converts between top and rear venting. Installed across Saskatchewan by Wheatland Fireplace.

FAQ

1. Does it work in a power outage?
Yes — battery-powered ignition and a millivolt valve mean the stove lights and burns without household power. Only the optional fan needs electricity.
2. Is a fan included?
No — this configuration ships without one, and the 150 CFM fan kit is available separately. Cast iron radiates well on its own, but a fan makes a noticeable difference in a large room.
3. Painted black or antique chestnut?
Painted black is the standard, cleaner-looking finish and costs less; antique chestnut is a warmer enamel for character homes. Both are the same stove underneath.
4. What does it heat?
30,000 BTUs, rated for roughly 1,700 square feet — a good match for a cabin, a basement or a main floor in a smaller home.
5. Can it be installed in a corner?
Usually yes, depending on clearances and vent routing. We confirm on site before ordering.
