Compact Insert for Small Fireplace Openings

Turn a Small, Drafty Fireplace into a Sealed Heater

The Enviro E20 Gas Insert is the smallest insert in the Enviro line, built for the compact masonry openings common in older Saskatoon and Regina homes — it needs just 24 1/4" W x 18 1/4" H with a depth between 14 5/16" and 16 1/2". A cast iron heat exchanger and 110 CFM fan pull 23,000 BTUs of usable heat back into the room at 66.45% efficiency, where an open fireplace sends most of it up the chimney. This is the millivolt (Nova) build with a classic log set, fan, steel liner and LP conversion kit included; it is a special-order item, so allow lead time. Measured, supplied and installed by Wheatland Fireplace across Saskatchewan.

Features

  • Fits Compact Openings: Needs only 24 1/4" W x 18 1/4" H, with a 14 5/16" – 16 1/2" depth range.
  • Cast Iron Heat Exchanger: Holds and radiates heat long after a steel box has given it up.
  • Millivolt Ignition: Standing pilot operation that keeps working during a power outage.
  • 110 CFM Convection Fan: Included, to move 23,000 BTUs into the room instead of up the flue.
  • Up to 50% Turn Down: Run it low for ambience or wide open on a cold night.
  • LP Conversion Kit Included: Ready for propane at the cabin or acreage.

FAQ

1. Will the E20 fit my fireplace?
It needs a minimum opening of 24 1/4" wide by 18 1/4" high, with usable depth between 14 5/16" and 16 1/2". Wheatland Fireplace measures before quoting — we would rather find the problem with a tape measure than on install day.
2. This is listed as special order — how long does it take?
The E20-S2 is not a stocked configuration, so it comes in on order. We confirm the current lead time when you request a quote.
3. What does an insert do that my open fireplace does not?
It seals the opening and vents through a liner in your existing chimney, so combustion air comes from outside and the heat stays in the room. An open fireplace is close to a net heat loss on a cold night.
4. Millivolt or electronic ignition — which do I want?
Millivolt keeps running in a power outage, which matters on acreages. Electronic ignition saves the standing pilot's gas. In this compact size the millivolt build is the common choice.
5. Does Wheatland Fireplace do the chimney liner?
Yes — the liner, the seal, the surround and the finishing are all part of our install, anywhere in Saskatchewan.
